Avid hunters, well-known celebrities, and politicians alike know one thing: If you want to hunt pheasants, come to Aberdeen. Brown County (where Aberdeen is located) has lead the state for the last 5 years in the number of birds harvested, and each fall sportsmen from around the country arrive to take part in South Dakota's annual pheasant season. One of the most exciting hunting events around!
In addition to pheasants, the area has an abundance of other game as well, including white tail deer, geese, many varieties of ducks, wild turkey and dove. For the angler, several beautiful fishing lakes surround Aberdeen, providing ample opportunity to land the perfect catch, while taking in a brilliant South Dakota sunset.
